Stereopony’s 5th Single release featuring their OP contribution to yet another TV anime and this time it’s ‘Darker Than Black ~Ryusei no Gemini~.

CD Title: Tsukiakari no Michishirube
Artist: Stereopony
Release Date: 4-Nov-2009
Aimi, Nohana and Shiho from the all-girl rock band Stereopony are back with another anime tie-up single titled ‘Tsukiakari no Michishirube‘. The titular track is also written and composed by Aimi and is used as the intro theme song to one of my favourite Fall anime ‘Darker Than Black ~Ryusei no Gemini~‘. I wasn’t sure if the song was the most suitable theme for the dark themed series. I had a similar apprehension when they did the opening for Gundam OO Second Season. However, DtB2’s intro visuals aren’t as grim as the first season’s OP animation. So I supposed ‘Tsukiakari no Michishirube’ somehow fitted well with the OP’s lighter visuals.
The two other new songs are ‘Daidaiiro‘ and ‘Fuzz‘. ‘Daidaiiro’ is a light pop-rock number much like the titular track albeit more catchier and less moody. ‘Fuzz’ on the other hand is much rockier compared to the first two tracks and made used of the slightly distorted synthesized vocals. Well, if you like Stereopony’s brand of music, then you’ll enjoy this single. As for me, I’m looking forward to hearing ABS’s ED theme ‘From Dusk till Dawn’ which I prefer over the OP. (^_-)

Stereopony’s songs are so relinquishing to the ears. I love listening to DtBS2’s opening due to that. XD
Ooops~ You must’ve misunderstood since I had a wrong choice of words. Anyways, what I mean is that I like listening to Stereopony’s songs because it gives a relinquishing feeling that expels any stressful feeling and that makes you feel relaxed. One of the best OPs this season, definitely!

Thanks for your comments. Don’t worry, I understood perfectly what you’re trying to say. Am glad you like Stereopony’s songs. DtB’s OP seems to be a grower for lots of ani-music fans. ^_^
